Free eye camp held at Shija

Over 285 persons turned up at the one day free eye camp organised today by Shija Eye Care Foundation of the privately-run Shija Hospitals and Research Institute at its Langol complex.
The camp was organised specifically for BPL Smart Card holders.
54 cases of cataract, 16 cases of pterygium and 208 refractive errors were diagnosed during the screening.
Operable patients holding smart card issued by RSBY would undergo surgery at Shija Eye Care Foundation.
Prof (Dr) M Lala, HOD, Shija Eye Care Foundation; Dr Sachindra L, Consultant Opthalmologist; Dr K Romen, Consultant Opthalmologist and Dr Kh Noornika, Consultant Oculoplastic Surgeon participated in the camp along with the support staff of SEC Foundation.
Patients detected with serious problem of the eye such as those requiring cataract operation would also be provided necessary facilities by the private medical centre.
It is said that the camp was organised as an endeavour towards rendering quality eye treatment as well as promoting awareness to the general masses that free eye treatment for BPL smart card holders is now available at Shija Eye Card Foundation, a model eye care centre in the region providing a wide range of advanced investigative, preventive and treatment facilities for glaucoma, cornea, retina, cataract, squint, paediatric ophthalmology, oculoplasty, etc.
