Senapati, March 13 2015 :
Terming the notification of Directorate of Education (s), Administrative Section, Government of Manipur, for appointments of teachers and lecturers on contract basis on March 11 as 'Disparity and Injustice', the All Tribal Students' Union, Manipur (ATSUM) has, today, strongly resisted the notification.
Defying the notification Emboi Serto asserted that ATSUM has been persistently pressing the State Government for solving the problem of adhoc/contract basis teachers while cautioning the State Government not to make any further recruitment of teachers until these problems are solved amicably.
The State Government, however, intentionally issued notification for recruitment of teachers against ATSUM's appeal, Emboi Serto added.
ATSUM is totally against the notification of Directorate of Education(S) and would oppose the recruitment, Emboi Serto maintained.
ATSUM also expressed strong dissent against the recruitment of teachers only for schools located in Jiribam sub division while there are nearly 2000 vacant posts of teachers in the hill districts of the State, Emboi added.
"We are not against the recruitment for the people of Jiribam sub division but towards the unjust attitude of the State Government", elucidated Emboi Serto while adding that recruitment of teachers in the hills should be done uniformly as many posts of teachers have been lying vacant in most schools of the hill districts.
"If the Government and the department concerned are transparent enough in their respective functioning they should immediate cancel the notification and solve the problems of the adhoc/contract basis teachers before any recruitment is effected.
Appointments should not be for one particular segment but for the whole including the hill districts," said the student body leader.
