CM assures, general strike called off

Following assurance from the Chief Minister to translate their demands into action as soon as possible, the JAC Against the Killing of Epham Salman Khan in the Bomb Blast has decided to call off the 48 hour general strike it called since last midnight.
A press release issued by the JAC said the general strike has been called off with immediate effect in the interest of the general public.
The JAC and the family members of Epham Salman Khan have also decided to claim the corpse for the last rites.
The JAC also conveyed its gratitude to MLA Md Amin Shah for facilitating a meeting between the Chief Minister and the JAC.
Meanwhile the general strike affected normal life in the capital today.

The 48-hour State wide general strike paralysed Imphal city as shops and other business hubs were closed.
The main commercial hub of the State was severely affected.
All the three Ema keithels, temporary market shed, cinema halls, banks were closed.
All passenger vehicles plying on different routes remained off the roads.
All major roads of Imphal city wore deserted looks except for some private vehicles.
Owing to CBSE board exam, students were exempted along with religious, emergency services and the media from the purview of the general strike.
