Thoubal, October 25 2018:
Thoubal Apunba Lup (TAL) has strongly condemned the statement of Thadou Students' Association (TSA) which claim that the land at Chikim village was given for construction of Kondong Lairembi by the communities/villages concerned.
TAL, reiterated the claim of the Ima Kondong Leirembi Thougal Lup that the place of Kondong Leirembi has been a place of worship since Meetei/Meitei started settling in Moreh.
Contrary to the claim of the TSA, TAL also reiterated that the land was instead given to Kuki and Naga refugees after Hill Tribal Council and Moreh Area Displaced Persons Welfare Association approached Meetei Council Moreh and Ima Kondong Lairembi Thougal Lup in 1997 .
Kondong Lairembi is not only worship by the Meetei/Meiteis.
All communities and religions worship Ima Kondong Leirembi, said a statement of secretary TAL W Ningthemjao Singh today.
It appealed TSA not to sow seeds of hatred among the different communities residing in the area and called for peace and harmony in the region and in the State at large.
It also appealed different communities in Moreh to show profound respect to tourists and traders visiting the border town and Myanmar.
