Social Welfare Min inspects newly renovated Government infrastructures

Imphal, June 12 2018: As promised for a better and up-to-date infrastructure during the last visit, Social Welfare Minister Nemcha Kipgen today inspected the newly renovated infrastructure development of Government Ideal Blind School and Directorate of Social Welfare buildings.

The retrofitting work of the Directorate of Social Welfare building was taken up to provide easy access to differently-abled persons.

Briefing the media, Minister Nemcha Kipgen expressed satidfaction on witnessing an improved condition of the Government Ideal Blind School campus and Social Welfare Directorate building as compared to her last visit, which was a year back.

However, she stated that there are some loopholes which further require attention and necessary action while adding that cooperation from the officials concerned is required to bring such loopholes into her notice, she added.

During the visit, Nemcha interacted with the students of the Blind School and encouraged them to give their best in their academics as well as in co-curricular activities and not to hesitate to raise their concerns and grievances, if any.

She also advised the teaching and non- teaching staff of the school to cooperate with the students and deliver their best effort for the welfare of the students.

Addressing the officials and officers of the Social Welfare Department, Minister Nemcha encouraged them to extend selfless and untiring service to the people as the department through its various schemes is intertwined with person's entire life cycle.

Meanwhile, Nemcha Kipgen along with Secretary & Director, Social Welfare Jacintha Lazarus also planted saplings at the campus of Government Ideal Blind School, Observation & Special Home for Juvenile and Directorate of Social Welfare to mark the World Environment Day 2018 and encouraged the students, staff and officials to instill the habit of planting and nurturing plants/trees for a clean and safe environment.
