Workshop on Ekal Abhiyan held

A one-day workshop on Ekal Abhiyan was held today at Charhajar community hall under the aegis of Anchal Senapati.
There are 270 Ekal Abhiyans in Manipur and they are imparting primary education to children below 14 years of age under a single teacher.
They are also teaching children above 14 years of age on health care, development, empowerment and moral education.
The 270 Ekal Abhiyans are distributed 90 each to Thoubal, Bishnupur and Senapati districts.
The Ekal Abhiyans were set up as charitable schools under Banabandhu Parishad, Guwahati.
The one-day workshop was addressed by vice president of the Friends of Tribal Society Arunji Bajaj, VHP North East regional secretary Ajit Tanaji and Ekal Abhiyan Kendriya Sudhak Yojana Pramukh Sapan Mukherji on office management and quality education.
