Free entry given, bike rally held

As a part of the 62nd Wildlife Week Celebration which is being celebrated all across the State, Orchid Preservation Centre, Khonghampat, Imphal West allowed free entry to the visitors, today .
Under the aegis of Central Forest Division, Forest Department, Manipur, multiple events including painting, article writing competitions, cycle rallies and bike rallies are being organized in many parts of the State as parts of the 62nd Wildlife Week Celebration .
Speaking to The Sangai Express, Chief Conservator Forest (CCF), Government of Manipur, Anurag Bajpai, informed that the Wildlife Week Celebration is more centralized this year, with the involvement of students from different schools, colleges and educational institutes and youths from different quarters, unlike previous years .
He further highlighted the importance of making the people aware that wildlife includes every life in the wild, whether animals or plants and urged all sections of the society to come forward and strive together to protect and conserve the plants and animals in the State .

Reminding that this year's theme for the wildlife week celebration is "Celebrating rights of wildlife", he stated that if one is a law abiding citizen one must be obliged to protect, preserve and conserve the rights of wildlife .
Anurag Bajpai also informed that many programmes designed to create awareness on the subject will be organized in different parts of the State, particularly in the hill areas in the coming days .
Meanwhile, office of the Divisional Forest Officer, Central Forest Division, Mantripukhri, Imphal also organized a bike rally today from Mayang Imphal bazar to Tangjeng Pat, Imphal West .
Around 100 bikers participated at the rally in which displayed placards and banners carrying messages like "Celebrate rights of wildlife", "Survival of mankind depends on the survival of wildlife", "I love animals and would do anything for them", "Each and every animal on earth has as much right to be here as you and me" and "Wildlife are part of nature, when we hurt the nature, we hurt ourselves" were carried.
