DM Bishnupur issues prohibitory order

Bishnupur, June 13 2026: The District Magistrate of Bishnupur has imposed prohibitory order under Section 163 (1) of the BNS, 2023 across the district in view of the prevailing law and order situation.

The order prohibited the assembly of 5 or more persons carrying dangerous weapons, holding of public rallies/meetings/sit-in-pro-tests/dhamas, etc in Bishnupur district with effect from 7 pm of June 13, 2026 until further orders.

In a release, the DM informed that the restrictions were imposed in view of the serious law and order situation prevailing in certain parts of the district, which could pose an imminent danger to human lives and property.

It also informed that the order shall not apply to Health, PHED, MSPDCL/MSPCL, official/staff of Education Dept, officials of Municipal Councils, media persons, ATM cash filing team, financial institutions, child helpline, women helpline, elderline, telecom service providers, functioning of High Court of Manipur and all other Courts and tribunals of the District Judiciary under the jurisdiction of High Court of Manipur.
