All Manipur VDF Welfare Association has today warned that it will not discharge election duties until their demands are not met.
Speaking to mediapersons at Manipur Press Club, All Manipur VDF Welfare Association president L Deban said that VDF personnel get Rs 4000 as monthly salary and additional Rs 1000 as ration allowance.
The association has urged and launched a series of agitation in 2015 and 2016 demanding to increase the monthy wage.
Service books are not provided to VDF personnel.
As a result, VDF personnel cannot avail various benefits provided by the Government, he said and added that intense agitation will be launched if the demands are not fulfilled within January 5 .
"VDF personnel have been discharging the assigned duties in the hour of greatest need.
There are more number of VDF personnel than of police personnel along the highways, guarding the people and drivers.
Our sacrifice and relentless service should be appreciated by the State Government," he added.
