Imphal, January 29:
Spreading the message of unity and fraternity among the indigenous people of the region, a march under the banner of 'Nongpok Chatpa Khongchat' would be flagged off from Kangla tomorrow.
The march to be carried foot taking over a period of 45 days would pass through different parts of Nagaland, Meghalaya and Assam.
The march is being organised by Young Horizon, Manipur.
The invocation ceremony of the march to be participated by around 400 people was performed at the Royal Palace here today during which titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba gave his blessing.
On the objective of taking out the march, Naoroibam Kapu Meetei, who is one of the chief functionaries of Young Horizon, Manipur said it is to rediscover the common roots of all the indigenous people and promote better understanding and sharing in each other fortune.
He also appealed to all the people settling along the Imphal-Dimapur Road as well as various social organisations to extend their support and co-operation during the march.
