DPR for spinning mill revival

Imphal, July 27 2017:
A detailed project report (DPR) is being prepared for revival of Loitang Khunou Spinning Mill, Commerce and Industries Minister Th Biswajit informed the House during question hour today .
Replying to a query raised by Okram Henry, Biswajit stated that a DPR is being prepared in consultation with a technical committee to obtain subsidy from the Ministry concerned in order to revive the spinning mill .
The Government has also been studying whether it should run the mill or a public-private partnership (PPP) model should be adopted .
Apart from reviving the spinning mill, the Government of Manipur has also been working to take up cotton plantation in the interest of the weavers of Manipur, Biswajit said .
Responding to another query raised by RK Imo, Th Biswajit who is in charge of Works Department informed that construction of a foot-bridge has been started in front of Nupi Lan complex while another foot-bridge would be constructed at Nityaipat Chuthek .
The Government has been planning to construct similar foot-bridges at Paona Bazar, Secretariat, Keishampat and Kwakeithel .
Plans are also afoot to construct requisite number of public toilets at suitable places of Imphal city under Swachh Bharat Mission, stated MAHUD Minister Th Shyamkumar in his reply to a question raised by RK Imo .
Replying to a query raised by Okram Henry, Labour and Employment Minister Th Radheshyam said that the Government has been working to take up several skill development programmes under the Manipur Skill Development Mission.
