Claiming that it has gathered information that the construction works for National Sports University (NSU) infrastructure at Koutruk will be taken up by Simplex Projects Limited, DESAM has questioned the authority concerned how and why the construction works of NSU will be handed over to Simplex Projects Limited, despite the presence of several complaints regarding the company's poor performance and delay when it comes to several projects in the State.
The students' organization also drew the attention of the Chief Minister to the matter and towards maintaining quality in the construction of the NSU infrastructure as well as for timely completion of the structure.
Addressing a press meet held at DESAM temporary office located at Sagolband today, its president Salam Akash conveyed that the students' organization has gathered information that the construction works of NSU building and other infrastructures will be handled by Simplex Project Limited.
Further maintaining that Simplex Projects Limited is infamous for poor quality works in the past apart from having many pending works like Capitol Project, RIMS OPD, PG Hostel, Lakhmi Market, he claimed that a newspaper published in the past about the likelihood of the same company getting blacklisted.
The DESAM president asked how and why the construction works of NSU building and infrastructure will be handed over to the said company.
Claiming that the people no longer have any faith in Simplex Projects Limited due to its poor performances in the past, Akash appealed the State Government not to hand over the construction works of NSU building and infrastructure to the said company.
He also conveyed that the matter will be highlighted to the Central Government through a written intimation to the Prime Minister Office and Union Minister of Sports at the earliest.
