Imphal, April 15:
As the two newly formed bodies, that is adhoc central committee and consultative group faced many inconveniences, members of the two bodies and invitees held a meeting on July 3, 2006 and formed an interim central committee until a permanent central committee is formed, added the statement.
The members of the interim central committee consisted of Laba Meitei as president, Lamphel Luwangcha as general secretary, Ak Yaima (Kokai) as home secretary, H Krity as finance secretary, KK Nganba as foreign secretary, Sh Pakhanglakpa as organising cum mobilisation secretary, H Poirei as information and publicity secretary and KK Mangang, City Meitei and Pibarel Mangang as members.
However on July 30, 2006, the three outfits namely, UNLF, PREPAK and KYKL made it clear that the interim committee would not be recognised as it was not constituted by party congress.
Hence the interim committee was declared null and void, explained the outfit.
A national congress of the KCP was held from October 20 to 23, 2006 and was attended by representatives from the UNLF, PREPAK and KYKL, said the outfit and added that under a new draft constitution an permanent central committee was formed.
The members of the permanent central committee include Senggoi Meitei as president, KK Mangang as vice president, K Nganba as general secretary, H Poirei as information and publicity secretary and Sh Pakhanglakpa as organisation secretary.
UNLF, PREPAK and KYKL then despatched a written message that they recognise the new central committee and the KCP started working along with the said three outfits.
Asserting that the ultimate objectives of the KCP is to defeat India and free the people from the rule of oppression, said the statement and added that all work will be carried out under a collective leadership.
The ideology of the outfit is Democratic Centralism, said the statement and explained that all cadres will be under the party, decision of the majority will prevail, appointments will be made through election, all sub-bodies and cadres will be under the central committee as well as national congress, the higher authority of the party will work in co-operation with their subordinates as well as in the spirit on the people.
All matters related to the KCP will be decided through its constitution.
Acknowledging that there is a growing schism between the general public and the armed outfits, the statement and added that one reason is the emergence of elements who don the mask of revolutionaries but do all that runs counter to the principle of revolution.
However such elements will not last long as their game will stand exposed in the long run and the genuine groups will gradually marginalise such elements, said the statement.
Thus there will come a time when a clear dividing line can be drawn between the fakes and the genuine.
Though even the genuine revolutionaries some time commit mistakes, this cannot have a lasting impact for there is always room to rectify the mistake by the revolutionary groups, reasoned KCP and added that to bridge the divide between the armed cadres and the public, the revolutionary groups ought to correct all past mistakes.
Even in the central committee of the KCP there were some anti-revolutionary elements, who did nothing except tarnish the image of the outfit, admitted the statement.
The outfit further said that unity of all the armed outfits is necessary to defeat India and recalled how the RJC failed to take off as well as the MPLF consisting of the UNLF, PREPAK and RPF.
Greeting the people on the occasion of its 28th foundation day, the outfit also extended its greetings to PREPAK, KYKL and UNLF.
