Republic Day greetings

Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Lokeshwar has greeted the people of the State on the occasion of Republic Day celebration.
In his message, the Speaker said that India became an independant country after remaining as a Bristish colony for many years.
After India got independence on August 15, 1947, the country became a republic on January 26, 1950, he further said.
Paying homage to all the freedom fighters who had contributed their mite in the Indian freedom struggle, the Speaker wished that the day brings unity and harmony.
IGAR (S) Maj Gen Rajeev Chopra and all ranks of Assam Rifles also greeted the people of the State on the occasion.
In his message, the Maj Gen said, "To commemorate the 66th Republic Day, we all take a resolve towards the path of unity and prosperity.
May the lord almighty bless us all with joy and happiness and guide us in our endeavours towards building a strong and prosperous Nation" .
