Imphal, November 15 2016:
Alleging that 12 year old school girl Sakina who was found dead hanging inside her boarding at Lilong Nungei on November 5 last was murdered after being raped by the vice principal of her school, Social Welfare Club today demanded the authorities concerned to award death penalty to the VP.
In a statement, the club lamented that none of the criminals who committed serious/heinous crimes against women have been awarded befitting punishment so far and added that this has led to the rising level of crime against women in the State.
Stating that the authorities of the school where Sakina was studying has not lodged any protest against the death of the minor girl till today, the club questioned whether the school supports the culprits involved in the case.
It also questioned why the post mortem report of Sakina has not been disclosed yet and urged the Government to book all the perpetrators involved in the case at the earliest and award them befitting punishment.
