Imphal, November 15 2016:
National People's Party (NPP), Manipur State unit has decried the State Government's deafening silence even as all sections of people have been enduring extreme difficulties on account of the protracted economic blockade.
Speaking to media persons at their Wahengbam Leikai-Jiri parking today, NPP State unit president Thangminlen Kipgen remarked that the Government's inaction smacks of sheer irresponsibility.
Different organisations may undertake different modes of agitation but agitation of such which challenges humanity itself is not acceptable.
The Government ought to take up some concrete actions rather than keeping a stoic silence, Thangminlen said.
NPP has been working for a strong and vibrant Manipur.
The future of Manipur should be decided by her people, not by Delhi.
Five persons who joined NPP anew after leaving other political parties were also felicitated at the gathering.
NPP working president Ch Ajang Khongsai remarked that UNC's vehement objection to creation of districts for administrative convenience lacked rationale.
It is a matter of serious concern that it look like there is no rule of law in the State.
Out of the five persons who joined NPP anew, three were given different posts.
While Md Habib Ali was given the post of vice-president, Hidangmayum Nabadwip Sharma and Khomdram Radhakishore were given the posts of spokespersons.
RK Shantibala and Noarem (O) Purnimashi were also inducted as members of the party's women front.
