About 30 activists of the Kangla Mei and the Salai Apunba Nupi Lamjing Lup has launched an indefinite dharna in front of the Kangla Pao office tonight demanding clarification from the group/individual involved in the murder attempt on Kangla Pao editor P Labango.
Taking strong exception to the attack on Kangla Pao editor P Labango, the Eastern Radiant Organisation (ERO), Old Checkon Bazar has condemned the attack in the strongest term.
Asking all concerned to clarify about the incident at the earliest, ERO also called upon all civil society organisations to adopt a collective decision against such frequent attack on media persons.
Likewise, the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO has also condemned the attack on P Labango while appealing to all concerned not to undertake such attacks against media persons.
Taking serious note of the life attempt against the editor of the Kangla Pao, P Labango after two senior journalists of the Matamgi Yakairol were severely assaulted by some unidentified persons, the All Manipur Nupi Marup, Keishamthong Kendra Area Committee has conveyed strong condemnation against such criminal activities.
Asserting that such attack on scribes were acts of terrorism, the Nupi Marup appealed to all concerned not to repeat such acts .
In a similar vein, the Thangmeiband United Club has denounced and condemned the attack on Paonam Labango.
TUC also demanded from the concerned group/individuals publication of reason behind the murder attempt.
Joining the condemnation chorus against the attack on P Labango, the Bashikhong Panthoibi Youth Club said that the attack was an act of terrorism.
Conveying deep concern over the frequent attack on scribes in Manipur, the United Committee, Manipur (UCM) has joined the outcry against the murder attempt on P Labango at around 9 pm of December 20.UCM also flayed the failure of the State Government to establish any clue on the incident even as it took place in the high security zone of the State capital.
It further demanded definite clarification on the incident from all concerned at the earliest.
The Students' Welfare Association For The Blind has also condemned the attack on the editor of Kangla Pao.
