Sukna trial : First witness on stand

The first prosecution witness of the Sukhna land scam was today cross-examined at the court of the General Court Martial (GCM) here.
"The cross examination of Colonel N K Dabas, staff officer of 33 corps was on today," defence officials said.
Dabas's cross examination was done after he deposed as the first prosecution witness in the GCM hearing against Lieutenant General (retired) Avadesh Prakash, an accused in the Sukna land scam.
Prakash, who was military secretary in former army chief Deepak Kapoor's office was held guilty by the court of inquiry last year and his court martial orders were given following the intervention of Defence Minister A K Antony.
The former armyman can lose his rank if found guilty.
Prakash, along with Lt Gen Rath, Lt Gen Ramesh Halgali and Major Gen P C (RPT P C) Sen, was found guilty of illegally giving land near Sukhna cantonment to private builders.
