Unlike the previous editions, traditional, cultural and musical instruments will be put on display during this year's Sangai Festival.
Chief Minister O Ibobi, who is also in-charge of Tourism, today presided a meeting at his Office chamber to discuss the highlights of the Sangai Festival which is slated to begin from Nov 21 till Nov 30 .
Commerce and Industries Minister K Govindas, Parliamentary Secretary M Prithviraj, members of Manipur Tourism Forum, WW-II Imphal Campaign Foundation, Polo Association and Chinzak Festival Organising Committee took part in the meeting.
In order to promote tourism in the State, the meeting minutely deliberated on showcasing traditional dresses, cultural items and musical instruments and polo during the festival.
The meeting also deliberated on inviting tour operators from outside the State to explore potential tourist spots free of cost.
Organising a seminar on tourism as part of the festival was also discussed during the meeting.
Meanwhile, the State Govt has initiated the process for inviting foreign diplomats including Japan and British ambassadors to the Sangai Festival.
The State Govt has also already started roads repair works ahead of the festival.
