AR recovers contraband drug

Imphal, October 23 2014:
Based on specific intelligence regarding drug peddling on NH 102, troops of the 24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) established vehicle check posts at Khudengthabi & Sita road junction and apprehended two individuals alongwith the contraband drugs on October 22, claimed a statement of PRO, IGAR (South) today.
The apprehendees were identified as Mrs Namem Haokip, aged 30 yrs, W/o Mr Ngangam Haokip, resident of Moreh Ward No -7 and Mrs Kethabi, aged 32 yrs, W/o late Mr.L Tombisana Singh, resident of Kwatha Mathak Leikai in Chandel district.
Around 150 gms of Heroin costing rupees sixty lacs approximately, one mobile phone and cash amount of rupees 6,200/- were recovered from Mrs Namem Haokip, while 1445 numbers of SP Tablets, 78 numbers of Nitrozepam Tablets and one Voter Identity card were recovered from Mrs Kethabi.
The apprehendees have been handed over to the Moreh and Tengnoupal Police Stations.
