Imphal, November 20 2013:
Bharatiya Janata yuva Morcha, Manipur has reportedly urged the party's national president for inclusion of 'special job package' for the educated unemployed youths of the North Eastern States in the party's manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking to newspersons at its Nityaipat Chuthek office today, State unit Yuva Morcha president O Malesh said compared to the census report from 2001 to 2011 regarding national average of generation of job in both the public and private sectors the situation in Manipur is the most pathetic.
Stating that Manipur's employment average is only 4 percent, he said not only are the educated youths frustrated in vainly searching for Government jobs but are struggling to get earning avenues.
Contending that the Congress Government of Manipur has been remaining indifferent to suffering and frustration of the educated unemployed youths, Malesh cited such lack of opportunity as the main factor for manipuri youngsters resorting to unwanted activities, including committing crimes.
As there is strong possibility of the NDA returning to power after the 2014 parliamentary elections BJP national president has been urged to include 'special job package' for the educated unemployed youths of the region, Manipur in particular, in the party's national election manifesto through submission of a memorandum,
he informed.
The memorandum also include a proposal for 20 percent seat reservation for the youths in the State assemblies and the Parliament, as well 30 percent seat reservation in the rural and urban local bodies, added Malesh.
Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha national executive member Ch Chidananda, who is also the party's Nagaland in-charge was also present at the media briefing.
