CNPO gives best wishes on Nagas' Seed Sowing Festival

The Chandel Naga Peoples' Organisation (CNPO) has expressed best greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Nagas� Seed Sowing Festival to be held on February 14 and 15 at Tahamzar.
The occasion marks a significant time of building bonds of brotherhood, transforming understanding and preservation of old-age traditions to converge the diversity of human kind, said a joint statement issued by CNPO general secretaries and NSUC president.
While extending solidarity to the protest against CAB 2016 and lauding NESO, its counterparts and other CSOs, for spearheading the protest, the organisation appealed all stakeholders to maintain discreet course of agitations so that the forthcoming HSLC and HSSLC examinations are not disturbed, it said.
Appealing the recognised private schools within the district, its assured that CNPO, NSUC and NWUC will extend all possible avenues to promote and preserve the indigenous Art & Culture of the tribes.
The school authorities would be appreciated for the noble venture to educate the students as part of the school curriculum, it said adding that CNPO and its sub ordinate bodies along with its constituent units and respective Tribe Literature Society will contribute logistic support to translate this objective.
It maintained that CNPO will initiate a district-wide 'public mobilization' to create awareness about development activities of undergoing projects and endangered Government policies that may negate the indigenous rights.
Various agencies executing the undertaking projects funded by Gol and GoM within the districts are implored to sincerely maintain technical guidelines and adhere to quality work, it said.
