and sanitizers from his own saving

The world today is slowly resuming to normalcy by learning to live with the Novel Coronavirus that causes deadly COVID-19 disease, even though scientists across the country are working days and night to find a cure for the disease.

But it is a new normal, lifestyle has changed, unnecessary gathering either for rituals or celebrations have been given up and most importantly the mindset of people particularly the youths school going children are showing serious concern on how to live and let go life without being affected by the deadly virus.

9 years old kid celebrates birthday by distributing face masks

November 1, is the birthday of Ningthiba Nahakpam.

A student of class 3 at Mega Manipur School, Yaralpat in Imphal East, and the 2nd son of Nahakpam David and RK Sunitarani, both central government employees , always celebrated his birthday in a grand way , that every well to do children celebrated every year.

But this time Ningthiba surprised his parents by proposing his parents to celebrate his 9th birthday in a different way.

When his parents were thinking of buying a birthday cake, Ningthiba told them that people across the globe are suffering due to COVID-19 pandemic.

"I have heard many of my age facing taught life due to the COVID-19 pandemic and I want the money for buying the cake as I have also some of my saving to help people fighting the COVID-19", Ningthiba told his father David and mother Sunitarani.

"I have been attending virtual class conducted by our school through smart phone and computer and I miss my friends as we could not share our days together even as we are serious in our e-class which started some months back" , Ningthiba told Imphal Times.

From the money he saved plus the few amount his parents were planning for birthday cake, Ningthiba with the help of his father bough facemasks and sanitizers.

November 1, he along with his father wake up early in the morning and came out after getting blessing from his mother, grandmother , uncle and aunty.

Before going to others whom he felt that sanitizers and masks are important, he visited this writer.

He presented me a sanitizer bottle and face masks and along with a walking stick as I need one to support myself while walking after my right leg has been fractured in an accident.

"Uncle as you are working in the media I feel that you need to be protected and for that I am presenting these few to you as I celebrate my 9th Birthday", Ningthiba said.

Impressed to the simple attitude and his concern for the society at such a small age, president of the United NGO Mission , N Jeevanmala, who happened to watch all the scene, she bless Ningthiba presenting him some more sanitizer bottle so that Ningthiba can distribute it to more needy people while celebrating his birthday .

"You are now a young COVID warrior and I think we can win this war against the deadly virus with young student like you fighting the spread of the virus", N.Jeevanmala Devi told Ningthiba blessing his birthday.

Ningthiba always like to participate people's gathering like joining sports events and other competition.

He is also a TUFFMAN RUNNER and he like cycling.

When asked why he wanted to celebrate the birthday by distributing the facemask and sanitizers, Ningthiba said that it was the principal of his school - Megha Manipur School, Mr.Ashok Kumar.

"Besides, my school principal other teacher to inspire me to do something for the society and as this is war time against the COVID , I felt it important to become COVID worrior", Ningthiba said.
