Imphal, April 13:
Ethno Heritage Council (Hericoun) has flayed the Congress-led SPF Govt for its alleged inability to resolve the issue of implementation of Meetei Mayek in all the educational institutions of the State.
In a statement, publicity secretary of Hericoun Laishram Sanajaoba Meetei said that the issue of Meetei Mayek is not of recent origin, but has been there for the last 50 years.
Moreover, it has been over 27 years since the Govt approved the script and included in the State Gazette.
It is rather disheartening that all the elected representatives of the people failed to understand the aspirations of the people and could not take a definite decision on the issue during the recently concluded Assembly session, said Hericoun statement, adding that this attitude of the elected representatives has only convinced the people that they are not interested in the welfare of the people, but are more concern of their own welfare.
