Governor Dr SS Sidhu has greeted the people of Manipur on the occasion of Cheiraoba being celebrated tomorrow.
Cheiraoba is a sacred and socio-religious festival of the people of Manipur and its marks the arrival of a new season, Dr Sidhu said in his message to the people.
He said as we celebrate another new year, we have to remember that we should not allow ourselves to get bogged down in the issues of yesterday.
Instead, we must hasten our march forward, correcting mistakes of yesterday and keeping our eyes firmly on where we want Manipur to be tomorrow, he said.
Governor�s message further observed that the wheels of development can move faster only when there is peace and harmony and appealed to the people of Manipur to contribute their maximum mite for ensuring peace and harmony in the Manipuri society so as to enable us to catapult the State into a higher orbit of development, the Governor�s message added.
On the auspicious occasion of Sajibu Cheiraoba, Chief Minister O Ibobi has expressed his warm greetings to the people of Manipur.
In a statement, Chief Minister O Ibobi said that Cheiraoba heralds the message of love, unity and hope amongst us by cleaning our minds.
The CM also wished and hoped that the occasion will usher in an era of peace and prosperity and happiness for all in the State.
Meanwhile, elected MP from Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency Dr T Meinya has conveyed his Cheiraoba warmest greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Cheiraoba.
