Imphal, August 28 2013:
All Manipur Tribal Union (AMTU) has saluted Haipou Jadonnang on behalf of all the tribal people of Manipur on his 82nd death anniversary which falls on August 29 .
"It is acknowleged that Haipou Jadonnang indeed was the pioneer of anti British colonial among the tribals in Manipur.
May his spirit of ideal leadership and patriotic soul incarnate forever and ever among our people," AMTU general secretary Romeo Bubgdon stated.
According to AMTU, Haipou Jadonnang is worth enough to consider him the brave knight.
"It is also very regretful to learn that he was convicted wit false accusation on the death of three tradesmen instigated by fellows loyal to colonials," said the tribal body.
It then said, "This accusation was the initial factor that led the britishers to discover Haipou Jadonnang's modus operandi of Naga Raj liberation which costed him his life.
He could have escaped the gallows though he was declared waging war against the emperess queen Victoria, had not he been betrayed by his own sibling who was conjured by the British agents, with misusing christianity as convincing tool," AMTU stated.
"Despite Christianity utmost devine, many white Christians arrived in our land with black intentions of power greed and dominant greed where many innocent bravemen laid thier precious life in defence.
May the almighty God rebuke such wicked souls," the AMTU said.
