Assam Rifles organises village chiefs meeting at Moreh

Imphal, November 07 2020:
Assam Rifles organised a monthly meeting with the Village Chiefs and local populace at Mission Veng day before yesterday.
Ways and means to maintain peace and tranquility in Moreh town along the Indo-Myanmar border were discussed during the meeting.
In addition, other important aspects such as provision of medical facilities to the villagers, education of children during lockdown, health and sanitation facility amidst pandemic, safety measures against COVID-19, water supply to remote villages and eradication of illegal cross border trade were also discussed.
Assam Rifles assured all assistance to villagers and also encouraged them to plant maximum trees in the area as also enhance sports events to channelize energy of youths in a better way.
Village chiefs and other representatives of villages to include Mission Veng, Sahei, New Laikot, D Monnaphai, Khonomphai, New Sejang, New Moreh, S Shimoul, L Phunchong and Sejang Veng participated in the meeting.
The meeting was highly appreciated by all village representatives and they thanked Assam Rifles for it's continuous effort to maintain peace and tranquility in town.
The meeting was fruitful in enhancing military-civil relations in this sensitive border town.
