Imphal, August 14 2016:
The Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has launched a customer loyalty programme for the convenience of diesel consumers of the State.
Information received from IOC's Imphal Divisional Retail Sales Office said that the customer loyalty programme has been launched at 14 oil pumps of the State.
Under the new programme, three different cards viz; extra power fleet card, driver card and rural card would be issued to diesel consumers at the 15 selected oil pumps and the IOC office.
The same programme was already in other States though it was launched in Manipur this financial year only.
So far, 500 driver cards and 30 rural cards have been distributed.
Driver card holders would be entitled to insurance of Rs one lakh and they will get 30 points every time they re-fuel.
When these points accumulate to 10,000, the card holders can re-fuel their diesel vehicles free of cost at any of the 15 selected oil pumps, informed the source.
There is no insurance benefit for rural card holders although they are entitled to all other benefits given to driver card holders.
Extra power fleet cards would benefit people who buy diesel in bulk quantities.
It gives insurance of Rs two lakh for both driver and helper.
Another programme named Extra Reward which would benefit petrol consumers would be launched in October this year.
The programme would provide benefits similar to those provided to driver card and rural card holders.
To launch the programme, swapping machines have been installed at 37 oil pumps.
In addition to cards issued by IOC or oil pumps, debit cards can also be used for re-fuelling once the programme is launched, added the official.
