World Population Day observed

As observed worldwide, the World Population day was observed by MFDC Directorate of Family Welfare Services and State Health Society, Manipur by organising a mass rally yesterday.
Health Minister D Korungthang who attended the programme as the chief guest said that the total population of Manipur is 28,55,794 .
There is no doubt of the fact that Manipur is facing an imbalance in terms of population.
Family planning is a must for every married couple.
It will not only ensure the child is given all the required resources but also enable the couple to more or less contribute in developing the society and reducing poverty, Minister Korungthang said.
The programme was also attended by Health Director Dr O Ibomcha, Family welfare Services Director Dr K Rajo, Ayush Director Dr K Lokendro and Health Services Additional Director Dr P Shyamsunder.
At the same time, District Legal Services Authority, Imphal West and All Manipur Bar Association (AMBA) jointly organized the "World Population Day" yesterday in the conference hall of District & Sessions Court, Imphal East at Cheirap Court Complex under the aegis of Manipur State Legal Services Authority.
In the programme, Salam Imocha Singh, District & Sessions Judge, Imphal East, Maibam Manojkumar Singh, District & Sessions Judge, Imphal West, Th Saimon Singh, Special Judge, ND & PS, Manipur, RK Memcha Devi, member secretary, Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA), H Chandrajit Sharma, president, AMBA and L Tonsing, CJM, Imphal West attended as the presidium members.
Nonibala Narengbam, Convenor, Women in Governance (Wing) Manipur and Kh Mani, Sr Advocate were the resource persons, according to a press release.
