MKS celebrates 39th conference

Senapati, January 11 2015:
Francis Ngajokpa, Minister of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Economics and statistics, Government of Manipur inaugurated the 39th conference of the Maralui Karalimei Swijoikang (MKS) (Maram Students' Union) Friday.
The Minister challenged the gatherings to take up entrepreneurship in order to achieve the aim of society's upliftment.
Striking a chord, Francis said that everyone cannot be an officer or Minister or MLA but everyone can achieve success in any field he/she chooses to.
There is no dignified or less dignified jobs, he said while encouraging the gathering to love and practise their job or duties with dignity.
Francis also urged the Marams to preserve and protect the resources in their area which were bestowed to the as blessings from the Almighty.
Don Bosco College, Maram, many Missionary schools, National Highway -2, the Barak river are some blessings the Maram tribe is bestowed with, he said.
Maram is also a historical place as it happens to be a place where the last battles of the WW II was fought.
He urged them to use the resources judiciously.
Francis Ngajokpa also assured piglets to the people in the near future.
The Minister also released the MKS Folk Tale Vol 2, Folk song CD and Maram dialect school text books.
He also extended heartiest congratulations to the Maram Literature Committee.
The conference was also attended by K Raisong, president, Maram Union as the guest of honour.
Isak Shah SP, Senapati; Sandeep Pandey, Commandant, 35 Assam Rifle; Dr KO Sebastian, principal, Don Bosco College, Maram, civil organizations leaders, student bodies' leaders like ANSAM, NPO, SDSA, KSTC, PNTM, Maram Women Union, senior leaders of MU and MKS, religious leaders social workers were also present.
The third day of the conference was attended by former MLA and Deputy speaker K Raina and other Maram leaders.
