KBC Centenary marathon race

The Kuki Baptist Churches Centenary Marathon race was organized to welcome the Centenary Celebration of Kuki Baptist Churches in Manipur which would be held from December 11 till December 14 at Tujang Vaichong, IT Road, Sadar Hills.
More than 140 people above 30 years of age participated in the marathon which was flagged off from KBC Centre Church Salem Sapormeina by Lunthang Haokip, Executive Member, ADC Sadar Hills and ended at KBC Centre Church Kangpokpi.
During the function held at KBC Centre Church, Kangpokpi, Haokholal Hangshing, Chairman, ADC Sadar Hills said that Ukhrul and Kangpokpi are the places of origin of Christianity in the State.
He continued that the centenary which is scheduled to be celebrated at Tujang Vaichong in December is not only for the KBC but Kuki people as a whole.

He also opined that the marathon race organized today was to raise one's spirits and promote the centenary and added that the race signalled the beginning of the centenary celebration and to prepare oneself for the occasion.
Interestingly, an 84 year old man, TS Ngamkholun from National Games Village, Imphal also took part in the marathon race to bag the oldest participant title while Officer-in-Charge of Loktak Police Station Letkhohao Vaiphei, who is also the former OC of Kangpokpi PS and a member of KBC Sapormeina, also participated in the marathon.
While expressing gratitude to all participants and other volunteers, Reverend Thangsat Kipgen, Secretary, Men Department, KBC appealed to everyone to participate in the centenary celebration.
