Senapati, November 07 2016:
Coming out strongly against the poor and deplorable condition of NH-2, the Senapati Autonomous District Council (ADC) has asked the State Government and concerned Department to initiate immediate action.
Thiiso Kriina, ADC Member said the NH-2 is considered the main lifeline of the State where all essential goods and commercial, economical transportations are carried out on everyday basis.
He has questioned the State Government as to how funds sanctioned for development of National Highways are utilized without repairing the main lifeline NH-2 for the past five years.
The highway stretch from Mao-gate till Kanglatongbi has been at its worst since many months now but no step has been taken to repair the road stretch.
The utter negligence and poor maintenance of the road by department concerned has only deteriorated the condition.
Many civil bodies of Senapati District including NPO, SDSA, KSO-SH and others have raised their voices since against the poor condition of the road, but the State Government and departments concerned have neglected the issue till date, he said.
The ADC Senapati demands immediate repairing of the NH-2 without further delay, he added.
