Body urges restaurateurs to tidy restaurants

Asking the restaurateurs to tidy up their restaurants within three days from now, Young Women Health Organisation has cautioned that anyone caught engaging in objectionable act inside restaurants would be exposed through the media.
Speaking to reporters today at the Manipur Press Club, Secretary of Young Women Health Organisation, Arambam (O) Robita Devi said her organisation had received several divorce cases on the ground that wives had pre-marital sex with other persons before marriage.
She said some husband divorced their wives after discovering their pre-marital sex with other persons.
Blaming the restaurateurs of playing a big role in the losing of modesty of many girls before marriage and extra marital affairs of many married couples, she urged the restaurateurs to take extra care in future in order to avoid such happenings.
She also said that a drive team of the organisation had come across dimly lit rooms and cabins at many restaurants of the State.
Though the organisation did not believe in closing down of restaurants, she however said that the owners should not function at their whims.
No restaurant should have dim rooms or cabins and use of curtain should be restricted, Robita said.
She warned that any one who did not comply with the direction should face the music.
Speaking at the occasion, President of CADA, Arambam Robindro said the prevalent of HIV could be more alarming if the trend continues.
Saying that sexual route is said to be the most prominent way of transmitting HIV virus among people, he urged the restaurateurs not to let such thing happens in their restaurants.
Restaurant owners and managers have also attended the press meet today.
They said that holding the restaurant alone responsible for the immoral behaviour of the youngsters would be a fault.
They also proposed for formulation of concrete rules for the prevention of such immoral practices.
The owners also urged all concerned to find out the reason for such immorality.
