Along with a march past parade participated by 14 contingents, the five-day long 4th State Camporee, 2010, which was underway at CC Higher Secondary School here concluded today.
The Camporee was organised under the aegis of Manipur State Bharat Scouts and Guides.
MP of Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency Dr T Meinya, who attended the concluding function as chief guest, saluted the march past contingents comprising Scout and Guide students from different schools.
IG Sushilkumar, who is also the State Councillor of Bharat Scouts and Guides presided over the function.
Delivering the key note address, State Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides Th Ibopishak informed that in all 500 Scout and Guide students from different schools of Manipur have participated in the Camporee.
Among these participants, around 100 Camporees who have been selected from the 4th State Camporee would be leaving for Dimapur tomorrow to participate in the Camporee to be organised at the North East regional level.
In his address as chief guest of the function, MP Dr Meinya observed that such camps would be organised more frequently to facilitate interaction among the students and instill a sense of oneness and unity.
He pointed out that for the integrity of Manipur, emotional integration is a must.
There can be peace in Manipur only when there is
emotional integration.
Besides the march past parade, presentation of cultural programmes by the participants and presentation of mementos to the officers of Scouts and Guides coming from different districts were other highlights of the concluding function of the 4th State Camporee.
