Taking a step ahead of other hill districts, Chandel is ready to conduct a free and fair HSLC examination, 2005 slated to begin from March 31 and take up stern action against students using unfair me-ans while writing the examination.
A joint meeting of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) for HSLC Examination, 2005, Anallon Christian Institute (ACI), Lambung, Chandel and the Private Centre, Chandel held on March 18 have resolved to ensure smooth conduct of the HSLC examination, 2005 to be conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BSEM).
Vice chairman of Private Centre Committee Samuel Khumlo presided over the meeting attended by OC cum secretary of the Private Centre Committee M Haridas as recording secretary.
Other members who were present during the meeting are Sh Kothar, BD Thumdang (ACI principal), Ng Johnson (assistant teacher St Peter), M Ibomcha Singh (assistant teacher Maha Union Govt High School), Y Sharat Singh (Assistant teacher, Maha Union), Sh Bijoy Monsang, assistant teacher Maha Union), TS Koshar), Angechare (assistant teacher Chakpikarong High Sch-ool), L Hmunvol (vice principal of ACI), KL Arun (assistant teacher of Maha Union) and K Beloveson (assistant teacher of Maha Union).
After a serious of deliberation on the issue, the meeting resolved to take up all possible steps to ensure smooth conduct of the examination and curbed use of unfair means by the candidates.
To make the mission a success, the meeting una-nimously appointed B Nongkhlaw of Maha Union Government High School, Chandel, Y Sharat Singh of Maha Union Govt High School and L Hmunvol of ACI as AOCs and Y Shamu Singh of Maha Union, Sh Bijoy Monsang of Maha Union, KT Warngam of Maha Union, N Subol Singh of Chakpikarong High Sch-ool and HB Ruwngthung of ACI as SOs for smooth conduct of the examination.
The meeting also resolved to appointed 12 invigilators from Maha Union Government High School, 7 from Chakpikarong High School, 9 from ACI and 2 others from St Peter to assist in the conduct of the examination besides allowing two representatives from any student organisation to assist the JAC/ Committee in controlling use of unfair means during the examination.
The meeting further resolved that the OC concerned shall submit the expenditure statement with appropriate APR and cash memos just after the examination is over and opening a separate Bank account at SBI Chandel in the name of the Private Centre Committee.
Lastly it was decided that a copy of the meeting proceeding would be submitted to the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BSEM) by way of informing about the measures being taken up as well as for other necessary actions.
