1 day training programme on first aid, disaster and fire held

Senapati, December 19 2020:
The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Senapati branch organised a 1 day training programme on first aid, disaster and fire in association with St John Ambulance, IRCS State branch at DRDA hall in Senapati district, today.
The programme was held with the theme "Through humanity to peace" .
As a part of the programme, 25 youth brigade volunteers were trained by Dr Koijam Arunkanta, vice chairman IRCS, Manipur State branch and Pradip Saikia, secretary St John Ambulance.
Dr Bankim Chandra Thokchom, master trainer, First Aid also attended the event as a resource person.
Dr Bankim Chandra Thokchom stated that accidents could happen anywhere.
He explained about the Danger, Response, Airway, Breathing and Circulation (DRABC) and demonstrated the techniques on how to save an injured person.
He also demonstrated the proper way of washing hands and asked them to learn, act and help others.
Addressing the media, Dr Koijam Arunkanta, vice chairman, IRCS, Manipur State branch stated that the programme was organised to create awareness and give basic knowledge about first aid.
He urged the people to use face masks, wash hands and maintain social distance to contain the spread of COV1D-19 .
Dr Koijam Arunkanta also lauded the volunteers of the IRCS, Senapati for their active participation.
Moreover, the team is also planning to organise a train ing programme on disaster management and fire safety in association with the department concerned at Senapati district.
