Lok Sabha MP from Nagaland Neiphiu Rio today said that peace cannot be there in 'Naga areas' unless the Naga political issue is settled.
Neiphiu Rio also said that 'Naga integration' is a must which is the aspiration of the Nagas.
The former Chief Minister of Nagaland was speaking at Niathu Resort in Dimapur today during a felicitation programme for all the elected members of the NDA partners organised by the Nagaland Unit of BJP.
National secretary of the BJP incharge of North East P.B Acharya, former MP and general secretary of BJP Tapir Gao, BJP general secretary incharge of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh Prasant Arora and various other regional leaders of BJP participated in today's programme.
Neiphiu Rio said that to have permanent peace in 'Naga areas' the Naga political issue has to be settled.
Neiphiu Rio also said that 'Naga integration' is the long aspiration of the Nagas which issue should be resolved at the earliest.
Rio also parts of the 16-Point Agreement have not been fulfilled till date.
Neiphiu Rio fervently appealed the BJP leaders present on the occasion to convey the Naga people's aspiration to their leaders in New Delhi.
Speaking on the occasion, P.B Acharya said BJP is the only national party that tries to understand the people.
He also said that BJP respects the diversity of things.
PB Acharya then said that BJP has the will and courage to resolve issues.
Meanwhile, the largest number of delegation attended today's programme was from Arunachal Pradesh.
Altogether 11 MLAs from Arunachal Pradesh participated in the Dimapur event.
