Training for women farmers

A one day training cum demonstration programme for women farmers under Farmer FIRST programme was held at the assembly hall of CAU, Imphal.
The programme was organised by the Directorate of Extension Education, CAU, Imphal on "Preparation of nutritious food from locally available resources for good health for enhancement of income" .
Dr M Premjit, Vice-Chancellor, CAU, Imphal, Prof Dr Ph Sobita Devi, Head, Department of Plant Pathology, CAO, CAU, Imphal, Dr T Medhabati Devi, programme co-ordinator, CAU, KVK, Andro and Dr Th Renuka Devi, Co-PI (FFP) and Associate Professor, Department of Genetics & Plant Breeding, COA, CAU, Imphal graced the programme as presidium members.
Speaking at the programme, Dr M Premjit said that farmers are now able sell their produce in the market and generate sustainable income.
However, farmers' produce which could not be sold can be manufacture processed food.
He also urged the women farmers to collectively work and produce various food items which will not only help them to generate income but also contribute towards growth and development.
