AR nabs NSCN-K men involved in Paraolon ambush

Troops under IGAR (S) have claimed to have arrested several cadres of NSCN (Khaplang) involved in the June 4 ambush on a military convoy at Paraolon in Chandel district which killed 18 soldiers.
According to a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S), five cadres of the NSCN (K) have been caught and the search for the remaining killers is on.
All the apprehended cadres are being handed over to NIA for further investigation.
Three cadres were arrested yesterday from different places in the State, the PRO said.
Based on specific intelligence, intelligence units under Assam Rifles have been searching for the dreaded killers.
The massive search has been the prime focus of all units under HQ IGAR(S) and 12 Bihar Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles established a vehicle check post in general area Utlou based on specific information of movement of one NSCN (K) cadre yesterday.
This vehicle check post team apprehended a member of the ambush team, No 3252 (Batch No 32), SS Pte Giftson, (22) s/o M Ibomcha, resident of Wabagai Kakching, Thoubal District yesterday.
He revealed that he was involved in the ambush against 6 Dogra Regiment in Paraolon village on June 4 and gave some further information about movement of his fellow team members.
The apprehendee has been handed over to the Nambol police station.
Based on his disclosure, the intelligence teams of Assam Rifles further intensified the hunt for the remaining members of the ambush team.
SS Sgt Maj Mayanglangbam Manglemba alias Touthing Ngangba of NSCN-K was apprehended at Pallel in an Operation by 20 AR in Tuisimi village on Aug 19 .
Acting on Manglemba's revelation, another operation was launched by Assam Rifles troops under the aegis of HQ IGAR(S).
Another NSCN (K) cadre involved in June 4 ambush in Paraolon village against 6 Dogra Regiment was apprehended by troops of the 22 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) from the area of Kakching Lamkhai yesterday.
The apprehendee was identified as No 4538, SS Sgt, H Bojesh Monsang (24) resident of Zaphou, Chandel district.
The apprehendee was handed over to the Kakching Police Station.
Five members of the ambush team have been caught by the combined efforts of all units under HQ IGAR(S) and the search for the remaining killers is the prime focus of all units, the PRO said.
All the above cases apprehended are being handed over to NIA for further investigation.
Indian Army faced an unprecedented attack from NSCN-K on June 4 when the 6 DOGRA Battalion was ambushed at Paraolon village.
The ambush has left a scar on all the troops under the command of Indian armed forces and IGAR(S) specifically.
The troops and intelligence agencies under Assam Rifles and Army have since been working day and night to provide peace to the souls of their fellow brethren.
NSCN-K cadre, SS Maj Rajanglung was killed on June 4 .
SS Cpl Chingkhiurei Gangmei who was apprehended at Tamenglong by team of 6 Dogra on Aug 4, it added.
