Floods and landslides effects No complete report available yet

Relevant Deputy Commissioners are yet give complete reports of the extensive floods and landslides which ravaged large areas of the State last month.
As such, the State Government is still unable to give a detail account to the Government of India.
Relief and Disaster Management Depart has not received complete reports of the heavy landslides which killed many people and the extensive floods which ravaged large tracts of paddy fields, fish farms and dwelling houses.
Since the complete reports have not been received, the State Government is yet to sent a representation to the Ministry of Home Affairs for an assessment by an inter-ministerial team, informed an official source.
Except for Chandel, Thoubal and Imphal West, no other districts and departments have given flood and landslide reports to Relief and Disaster Management Department till date.
According to official records available so far, 11 people were killed by the landslides and the floods.
While 10 people were kill-ed in landslide at Joumol village, Chandel district, flood claimed one individual in Thoubal district.
Altogether 12,061 acres of paddy fields were affected by the floods in Chandel district.
Around 30,000 people of 77 villages located under the jurisdiction of ADC Moreh were also affected.
For Thoubal district, 47,353 acres of paddy fields and 1,111.9 acres of fish farms were ravaged by the floods.
Union MoS (Home) Kiren Rijiju and DoNER Dr Jitendra visited the State and inspected the flood situation as well as the impacts of landslides last month.
They also asked the State Government to write to the Centre to send a Central team for assessment of the damages done by the floods and landslides.
