Eastern Liangmai welcomes Naga Peace Accord

Eastern Liangmai, Manipur on Wednesday welcomed the Naga Peace Accord signed recently between National Socialist Council of Nagalim or NSCN (IM) and Government of India on August 3 last in New Delhi.
They observed the day as Thanksgiving Day at Makhen Village, Senapati district.
The Liangmei people on the occasion lauded the vision of the collective leadership of NSCN (IM) - Isak Swu, Th Muivah and Central leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Interlocutor for Naga talks RN Ravi for their efforts in reaching the historic Naga Peace Accord.
Hundreds of Liangmais including old and young; intellectuals; officers; Church leaders; social workers and village chairmen participated in the thanksgiving programme in their colourful traditional dresses.
The youth societies, women societies and Church leaders performed choirs, patriotic songs and culture dance as part of the celebration.
