Security forces arrest five NSCN (K) cadres involved in Paraolong ambush

Imphal, August 20 2015 :
Security forces have claimed to have arrested five NSCN (K) cadres involved in the recent attack on the 6 Dogra Regiment personnel near Paraolong Village on June 4 .
They were nabbed during separate counter insurgency operations conducted in the last three months.
The Paraolong attack which killed 18 Jawans and injured many others was carried out by a combined team of NSCN (K), KYKL and KCP.
In a press statement, PRO HQ IGAR (S), Indian Army faced an unprecedented attack from NSCN (K) on June 4, when the 6 DOGRA Battallion was ambushed at Paraolong village.
The ambush has left a scar on all the troops under the command of Indian Armed Forces and IGAR(S) specifically.
The troops and intelligence agencies under Assam Rifles and Army have been working day and night to provide peace in the area.
The first dedication to the martyrs was made at the ambush site itself by men from 6 Dogra and killed one attacker identified as SS Maj Rajanglung.
Special teams were tasked to investigate the complete ambush and they found crucial evidences.
They worked meticulously and went into complete details and were able to establish identities of the culprits.
Post the identification work, massive search has been launched leading to apprehension of another member of the ambush team of NSCN (K) identified as M Manglemba alias Touthing Ngangba of NSCN (K) at Pallel by 20 AR in Tuisimi village on July 19 .
The Intelligence teams of Indian Army further maintained the hunt for the remaining members of the ambush team and apprehended one 'Cpl' Chingkhiurei Gangmei at Tamenglong by team of 6 Dogra on August 4 .
The massive search operation continued in all the units under HQ IGAR(S).
A 12 BIHAR Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles established a vehicle check post in general area Utlou based on information of movement of one NSCN (K) cadre on August 19 and nabbed another member joined in ambush team identified as No 3252 (Batch No 32), 'Pte' Giftson (22), S/o M Ibomcha of Waloagai Kaachin, Thoubal district.
Investigation revealed that he was involved in the ambush against 6 DOGRA Regiment in Paraolon village and gave some further information about movement of his fellow team members.
The apprehendee has been handed over to the Nambol Police Station.
On his information, troops of the 22 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) conducted counter insurgency operation in the area of Kakching Lamkhai on August 19 and held one NSCN (K) identified as No 4538, 'Sgt' H Bojesh Monsang (24), of village- Zaphou in Chandel district.
The apprehendee was handed over to the Kakching Police Station.
Their cases were handed over to NIA for further investigation.
