Jacintha Lazarus, during her speech, highlighted the basic purpose of Ameishing's visit to the district.
Ameishing was on a visit to evaluate changes in the district through the Government policies and programs witnessed since his posting at the district.
The visit has been necessitated by an order issued from the Prime Minister's office requiring Departments to sumbit a list of visible changes witnessed in their respective posts.
The visiting officials called upon the DLOs and CSOs to contribute to the list of changes they have witnessed so far through Government policies and programs that have been held in the district.
Lamcha Chongloi, general secretary, KSO, Sadar Hills stressed the inevitability of granting full-fledged districthood to Sadar hills for grassroots level development and changes to the IAS officer.
He said the Parliament Act of 1971 with regard to the creation of Sadar Hills remains one of the oldest Acts passed by the Indian Parliament waiting for its implementation.
Unless the Central Government takes up appropriate measures to enforce the said Act, it will remain a mockery to the Indian Parliament, the KSO general secretary said.
The ageless water paucity in the town and its adjoining areas, pitiable road condition and connectivity in Twilang (Imphal-Tamenglong) areas were highlighted by the area representatives.
Various DLOs also shared their view on medical, education and other departments as well.
Speaking after interacting with the gathering, Ameishing Luikham emphasized the importance of sizeable agriculture market in hill districts.
He also stressed the need to modify the practice of setting up stalls at roadsides to sell vegetables and other commodities.
Ameishing Luikham urged the concerned town committee and the district administration to approach the Government with a proposal of setting up an agriculture market assuring that the proposal will be recieved positively.
However, he noted, the community should donate land for the purpose since the Government has no land in the hill areas.
