Rani Gaidinliu birth centenary, AZSU jubilee celebrations

The Rani Gaidinliu Birth Centenary Cum All Zeliangrong Students' Union (AZSU) Golden Jubilee Celebrations will begin on December 16 at the native place of Ranima in Tamenglong district's Khoupum valley and the district headquarters.
The Government of India joined the centenary on August 24 last at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi when Prime Minister Narendra Modi released commemorative coins of Rs 100 and Rs 5 denominations in honour of Ranima.
Another valedictory function will be held in New Delhi on November 6 to be organised by Zeliangrong Welfare Association, Delhi, a statement said on Saturday.
The AZSU is including the unique occasion of Ranima while celebrating the Golden Jubilee of the union with immense enthusiasm and fanfare.
The distinguished guests invited (yet to be consented) to the function are PM Narendra Modi, Nagaland Governor PV Acharyaji, Manipur Governor Dr Syed Ahmed, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang, Minister of State for DONER Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju and other prominent leaders of the Northeastern region, the statement said.
"On this auspicious occasion all are invited and sought cooperation for the glory of our people with a hope that the celebrations will lead us to live in peace and harmony looking at our past and building our future," the statement added.
