Free heart camp held, privilege health cards distributed

Manipur Heart Foundation in association with the All Manipur Working Journalist Union (AMWJU) conducted a one day free heart camp today at the premises of the Manipur Press Club.
Heart surgeons and other specialist doctors from Sky Hospital conducted the camp where members of AMWJU and others availed the benefits.
Manipur Heart Foundation is a non-profit organisation based in Imphal providing help and support to heart patients.
The heart camp provided free consultation (OPD), ECG for patients above 40 years of age, Echocardiography screening (ultrasound for heart) and blood sugar test for patients above 40 years of age.
More than 100 persons availed the benefits of the heart camp.

As part of a good will gesture from the Sky Hospital towards media fraternity of the State, Managing Director and also the Chairman of Sky Hospital Dr Shyamkishore today launched privilege health cards for all members of All Manipur Working Journalist Union in a simple function held as part of the heart camp.
President of AMWJU Shamjai also attended the function.
Conveying the steps taken up by the Manipur Heart Foundation in collaboration with Sky Hospital, to participants of the function, Dr Shyamkishore stated that the hospital has been providing medical facilities to various Government offices and other departments.
He added that under the privilege health card, beneficiaries will get discount on all forms of treatments upto 20 percent.
Further he said that on September 29 when the whole world observes the World's Heart Day, the Manipur Heart Foundation in collaboration with British Heart Foundation will distribute financial assistance to nine children from different districts of the State who has been suffering from various heart related ailments.
President of AMWJU Shamjai applauded the step taken up by the Sky Hospital for the benefits of media persons.
He stated that the Sky Hospital is the seventh such hospitals who has been providing various facilities to media fraternity.
As a step to foster good relations with journalists of the State, the hospital is said to introduce 'Media Excellence Award' which includes cash award of Rs 25,000 and a citation and will be conferred by the Sky Hospital.
