A free health check-up camp for media persons and other people working in media houses would be held tomorrow at Manipur Press Club under the aegis of AMWJU and the Environmental and Social Development Organisation, Keishamthong Hodam Leirak.
Meanwhile AMWJU president Wangkhemcha Shamjai has appealed to all media persons and other people working in media houses to avail the opportunity provided by the health camp.
Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and liver infections would be checked at the camp which would be opened at 10 am.
Taking strong exception to the restrictions imposed by Government authorities on the media in Jammu and Kashmir, Shamjai said that the undue interference has been strongly condemned by the Indian Journalists' Union (IJU).
He said that AMWJU would take part in any form of protest agitation launched by the IJU.
Environmental and Social Development Organisation project director L Megharaj highlighted the need to check liver functions in view of the growing number of deaths due
to liver cirrhosis.
