Outer PC goes to poll today, voting to begin at 7 am

Imphal, April 10 2019:
The Outer Manipur PC will go to polls tomorrow beginning 7 am amidst tight security.
There are 10,10,618 (4,95,583 males and 5,15,022 females) voters in Outer Manipur PC and they may cast their votes at 1562 polling stations from 7 am till 4 pm.
Polling parties have already reached their respective polling stations.
Altogether eight candidates namely NCP's Angam Karung Kom, INC's K James, NPP's Thangminlien Kipgen, NPF's Lorho S Pfoze, BJP's Houlim Shokhopao Mate alias Benjamin, NEIDP's Ashang Kasar, JD-U's Hangkhanpau Taithul and independent candidate Leikhan Kaipu are contesting the Lok Sabha election in Outer Manipur PC which also has 11,347 service voters and 13 third gender voters.

There are also 3176 persons with disabilities in Outer Manipur PC and the office of the CEO has made special arrangements to facilitate them to cast their votes.
Their names have been already marked in the electoral roll for easy identification.
Of the total number of polling stations in Outer Manipur PC, 227 have been categorised as critical, 171 as vulnerable while there would be 32 model polling stations and 198 polling stations which would be exclusively manned by women personnel.
Apart from 10 companies of State armed police, 90 companies of Central forces have been deployed in Outer Manipur PC for the election.
Speaking to media persons at his Lamphelpat office today, CEO PK Singh said that all arrangements have been made to hold the first phase election in a peaceful, free and fair manner.
He also appealed to all people not to spread rumours.
Complaints received from candidates and political parties are referred to ROs concerned to check their credibility.
Counting of votes would begin only after all such complaints are disposed, said the CEO.
Notably, CCTV cameras have been installed at all polling stations for live webcasting of the polling process and direct monitoring by officials of the ECI and the CEO.
