Imphal, November 02 2015:
The proscribed UNLF has claimed its hands in setting off one bomb at Sky Cold Cafe, Iroisemba Maning Leikai, Uripok-Kangchup Road at around 3.30 pm yesterday and another at the Mayang Imphal Keithel residence of Chandel CMO Dr Seram Ibomcha at around 3.30 am of October 31 .
According to two press releases issued by the outfit's director M Sak-hen, the Sky Cold Cafe was attacked as a warning against all such restaurants which have become shady places for all kinds of immoral activities such as outraging modesty of vulnerable and/or gullible girls/women.
The outfit would intensify its campaign against people who have been treating women as sexual objects or commodities as well as against star hotels and restaurants/cafes which have become convenient places for sexual exploitation of women.
The party would also launch a strict vigil against the practice of uploading/sharing nude pictures/videos of women on mobile phone and social media sites.
The UNLF's drive launched against immoral elements in the early 90's would be re-launched with renewed vigour, it conveyed.
On the other hand, CMO Dr Seram Ibomcha signed an agreement on March 29, 2014 in front of the Kwatha village chief, village elders and parents of Ningthoujam (N) Tombi whereby it was declared that Tombi would be accepted as the third wife of Ibomcha.
Accordingly, marriage of Ibomcha and Tombi were solemnised on March 30, 2014.But after sometime, Dr Ibomcha went to Imphal and turned his back against Tombi.
Even as Tombi went to Imphal and pleaded Ibomcha to take her back, Ibomcha insisted that they should divorce.
The matter eventually reached a CSO.
But the matter could not be resolved and finally UNLF took over the matter.
Dr Ibomcha was informed repeatedly to come to Kwatha and clarify his position but he did not pay any heed.
The bomb set off on October 31 was the last warning to Dr Ibomcha.
He should approach the party on or before November 24, it added.
