Close on the heels of rescuing many children of the State from some South Indian States, three kids have been rescued from being harassed allegedly by authorities of a private school located at Imphal itself.
The kids were rescued after a Nepali boy escaped from the boarding of Narmada Foundation located at North AOC on March 26 .
Acting on the disclosure made by the boy about the harassments he and other students suffered at the hands of school authorities, officials of Child Line Imphal and Child Welfare Committee conducted a raid within the boarding and rescued two kids last evening.
Of the two kids rescued yesterday, one is the younger sister of the boy who escaped from the boarding on March 26.The other is a boy from Sikkim, said coordinator of Child Line Imphal Mala Lisam.
Saying that the kids were harassed and beaten up quite often by a woman functionary of the foundation, Mala Lisam said that the matter has been informed to Social Welfare Department.
