Importance of scientific enquiry, analytical thinking in young minds mooted

Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam Singh has observed that scientific enquiry and analytical thinking must be inculcated in the minds of young people for all round development of the society .
He was speaking as chief guest at the closing ceremony of the 39th State Level Students' Science Seminar � 2017 at Lamyanba Shanglen held on the theme “Swachh Bharat: Role Of Science & Technology Promises and Challenges” organised by the Directorate of Education (School) under National Council Of science Museum, New Delhi today .
Laishram Yashmine Devi of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Khumbong, Imphal West District, Zone � I bagged the 1st prize in the science seminar for this year .
She will participate in the National Science Seminar – 2017 to be held at Birla Industrial and Technological Museum, Kolkata on November 9 .
Altogether 14 students from 17 different zones of the State took part in the seminar .
The Education Minister stated that the rise in human population has resulted in excessive exploitation of nature causing ecological imbalance .
He asserted that the seminar would influence the minds of the young people to equip with the scientific enquiry and analytical thinking to enable them to face the challenges arising out of the conflict between man and nature .
Former principal of DM College of Science, G Tomba Sharma stated that there is a need to impart scientific knowledge to everyone through easy languages .
Director, Education (S) Thokchom Kirankumar, officials of Education Departemnt, teachers, guardians and students were also present at the occasion.
